Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the attitudes towards teaching profession and self-efficacy beliefs of teacher candidates, who are trained in fine arts (art music). Screening and relational screening method were used in this study. The research group of the study was composed of 209 students who are studying in 1st and 4th grades of art and music education departments of Ondokuz Mayıs University Fine Arts Faculty in fall and spring semesters of 2016-2017 academic year. Attitude Scale Toward Teaching Profession and Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale were used in the collection of data. In the analysis, the percentage, arithmetic mean, Mann Whitney U test, correlation techniques were used. It was found that teacher candidates self-efficacy beliefs are significantly adequate and that candidates’ self-efficacy beliefs do not vary according to gender, grade level and department.
