Abstract
Personality is all of the components that are different from each other, which are affected by environmental factors and experiences in life. One part of our personality is reflects genetic heritage and the other side reflects our experiences in family and society. Children’s relations with their teachers in early grades affect their peer interactions, behavior problems, school affairs and learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between preschool teacher candidates’ personal traits and communication skills. Correlation and multiple regression model was used for analyzing process. There were registered 300 senior students in the early childhood education department in the Yozgat Bozok University. 289 of these teacher candidates were involved in the study by typical case sampling. Results indicated that preschool teacher candidates’ traits of self-actualization, social norms, and social norms were regressing the communication skills statistically significantly but one of the independent variables, gender, was not regressing the communication skills statistically significantly. There were medium level correlation between the personal traits of preschool teacher candidates and their communication skills.
