Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine the relationship between the levels of awareness of learning strategies among teachers and students. The study was conducted in the second semester of the 2015-2016 academic year with teachers and students in twelve state primary schools in Artuklu, Mardin. The study made use of three assessment tools, including Awareness Level Inventory of Learning Strategies, translated to Turkish by Bayındır (2006), and Teacher and Student Survey, also prepared by Bayındır (2006). In the study, t test was administered in order to determine whether or not there was difference between genders. The “Correlation Analysis Technique” was used in order to determine the relationship between the scores obtained from the three scales. The study revealed that the scores obtained from the Awareness Level Inventory of Learning Strategies did not show a significant gender-based difference, the scores obtained from the Teacher Survey showed a significant difference in favor of males, the scores obtained from Student Survey did not show a significant gender-based difference. The relationship between teachers and students views about learning strategies is low level and negative.
