Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether 5^th, 6^th, and 7^th graders’ Social Studies class activities significantly vary based on various variables. The study employed the survey model using the quantitative method. The study group consists of 236 students attending a public school located in the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey in the 2018-2019 academic year that were chosen through random sampling. First, a pilot study was administered to 30 students attending a middle school located in the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey chosen through random sampling. The duration of implementation was set as 25 minutes. The study used “My Class Activities” survey adapted to the Turkish culture (Deniz ve Saranlı, 2017). The remaining 236 forms were analyzed via SPSS 15.0. The data were analyzed through independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The data were collected by the researcher at different dates and hours in the 2018-2019 academic year. As a result of the research, it was found that the scores of students classroom activities scale were high. Furthermore, plans about Social Studies course class activities should take into consideration enjoyment, which is influential on students’ motivation for classes.
