Abstract
The aim of the study is to develop the self-efficacy beliefs of classroom teacher candidates about the education applications in museums. The research was conducted with convergent parallel design from mixed method research designs. In the quantitative dimension where the research was designed experimentally, it was aimed to improve the self-efficacy of classroom teacher candidates towards educational practices in museums. In the qualitative dimension of the research, it was ensured that teacher candidates were associated with different disciplines museums such as Turkish, mathematics, science, music or visual arts education. The study was conducted with 58 (42 female; 16 male) teacher candidates studying in the second year of the classroom teaching program of a public university in the Black Sea Region. The research data were obtained by using self-efficacy belief scale and semi-structured interview form. The results of the study showed that the classroom teacher candidates self-efficacy levels in guiding the museum tour process, using the museums as a learning environment, planning the course content or the museum visit process in accordance with the needs of the students and the processing of the lessons in the museums improved positively after the training. According to these results, museum education practices that will contribute to the professional development process in faculties that train teachers should be associated with different disciplines and it should be supported with different activities, methods and techniques related to the gains in teaching curricula.
