Abstract
Today, Turkish is learned in Turkey and in different locations around the world by different target groups. In this context, the Syrians have taken refuge in Turkey to escape from the civil war that began in their country and became one of the Turkish learner. The order of provinces where most of the Syrian refugees took refuge in Turkey is Kilis, Hatay, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa ve Mersin. In this context, the aim of this study is to propose a solution by determining the situations encountered in the learning process of the refugees in the provinces where Syrian refugees live predominantly and in which the local dialect characteristics are far from the standard Turkish, and to find solutions to them within the framework of teachers opinions. For this reason, the criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used in the study, which was designed with phenomenology, which is a qualitative research method. The data of the study was collected by a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers. The collected data were analyzed and interpreted by descriptive analysis. Based on the data obtained, it was found out that all students in the classroom had both positive and negative aspects in the process of teaching Turkish to them and that it was difficult for the students to know Arabic in the provinces where they lived and the concentration of Syrians in that region to transfer the students into practice. It has been concluded that these situaitions affect the process negatively. In the study, it was also found that the students reflected the oral characteristics of their experiences in their Turkish speeches and this had a negative effect on the Turkish pronunciation of the students.
