THE CORRELATION AMONG THE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SKILLS, ACADEMİC OPTIMISM AND PROFESSIONAL COMMITMENT

Abstract
This study investigated primary school teachers’ classroom management skills, academic optimisms and professional commitments and correlation among them. For this aim, the correlational survey method was utilized in the study. The sample of study were 638 primary school teachers selected through proportional cluster sampling method. Data were collected via the “Clasroom Management Skills Scale” adapted by the researchers, the “Academic Optimism Scale” developed by the researchers and the “Profesional Commitment Scale” developed by the researchers. The data were analyzed by SPSS 22. The findings have revealeted that they have a high level of perceived classroom management skills, have usually level of perceived academic optimism and professional commitment. The findings also indicated a midium positive significant corelation between classroom manegement skills and academic optimism, classroom manegement skills and professional commitment, academic optimism and professional commitment. The findings also indicated academic optimism explains 33% of total variance in classroom management skills; professional commitment explains 14% of total variance in classroom management skills; academic optimism and professional commitment together explains %35 total variance in classroom management.
