  • Abstract
    A suicide case that occurs when situations that are considered impossible to overcome occur, has a multidimensional, complex and large-scale structure and is defined as a behavioral disorder that primarily represents processes that pose a mental risk. In order to prevent both the national and international arena where the work was done in many / most of the phenomenon in question that is being done in our country, which constitute a research area located in the Aegean region be seen in suicides and limited geographical research on the geography of the preparation of the study is provided. The aim of the research is to reveal suicide cases in the Aegean Region from a geographical perspective. For this purpose, suicide data sets obtained from the Turkish Statistical Institute and covering the jul 2019 were used. The research has reached its final dimension with the use of descriptive research method. Izmir, which is located within the administrative borders of the Aegean Region, which constitutes the research area, is in the first place with the highest number of suicide cases, followed by Izmir, Aydin and Denizli provinces, respectively, and the lowest suicide incident in the whole region belongs to the provinces of Usak and Kütahya. The first two places in cases of suicide in both the female and male population are occupied by unknown and other causes, while in both sexes the disease is the third factor that leads to the greatest number of suicides. The use of firearms in the male population, and the hanging method in women is the most preferred suicide tool. High school and equivalent vocational school graduates, primary school and primary school graduates, primary school, secondary school and equivalent vocational school graduates and high school and equivalent vocational school graduates are education levels where suicide acts are concentrated throughout the region. The age december of 35-39 years in the male population and the age group of 15-19 years in women represent the age groups where the most suicide cases occur throughout the region.
