Abstract
Lakes and lake ecosystems are of great importance in terms of natural, human and economic life. For this, knowing what is happening in the lake environment and its immediate surroundings and what kind of changes are experienced has many benefits. Lakes Region, as the name suggests, is the place where lakes are most concentrated in terms of both number and area. One of the most important basins of this region is the Burdur Basin. In this study, it was tried to determine the level changes in the six lakes (Burdur Lake, Acıgöl, Akgöl, Sıralı Lake, Karataş Lake, Salda Lake) in the main basin and subbasins of Burdur Lake in recent years. For this, the 36-year period covering the years 1985-2021 was examined, and seasonal changes were determined with the help of the data of February and July, as well as the general level changes in the mentioned lakes. Data were obtained from LANDSAT satellite images obtained from international organizations such as NASA, ESA, USGS, Sentinelhub, Libra. It was visualized, digitized and analyzed using Remote Sensing (UA) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies. According to the research findings, the waters of other lakes except Salda Lake have been withdrawn to a great extent in the last 36 years. In fact, Acıgöl has shrunk by 80% and Akgöl has completely dried up. This situation shows that other lakes in the basin except Salda are in danger of extinction.
