Correction to "The echo area of a perfectly conducting prolate spheroid"

Recent studies of radar target signatures at a missile range, revealed errors in some of the formulas on the echo area of the prolate spheroid of the above paper (see abstr. b23863 of 1969). These errors originated from a report referenced in the paper. The report contains tables of values needed to calculate Moffatt´s impulse response. Two of these tables, Tables II and III, contain incorrect values. While computed echo areas and transient responses of the spheroid do not seem overly sensitive to the effects of these errors, they should be eliminated to avoid compounding errors in the model with errors in the calculations. The correct versions of Tables II and III and those equations found to be in error in the report, as well as those equations found to be in error in the paper are presented here.
