Abstract
A nonlinear analysis of electromagnetic devices supplied by a sinusoidal alternating current or voltage source is presented. In numerous apparatus like motors, generators, traveling field induction furnaces, etc., the saturation effect must be taken into account for the design but does not affect widely the waveform of the current which may be assumed sinusoidal. We shall present here a complex analysis based on the assumption of sinusoidal fields on two-dimensional geometries in Cartesian or axisymmetric coordinates.
