Abstract
Measurements of the reversible component of magnetization or reversible (backward) differential permeability made on 1% Mn pipeline steel at numerous points around major and minor hysteresis loops and on initial and anhysteretic curves are described. It is found that the reversible component of magnetization is a single-valued, even function of magnetization under all these conditions. It is independent of the field or the magnetic history
