Abstract :
The scattering cross section data obtained from numerical solutions of the magnetic field integral equation (MFIE), using a variety of basis functions and both Galerkin and non-Galerkin testing schemes, are compared to study the convergence rates of the results. For the basis functions considered, apparent superconvergence is observed in the MFIE scattering cross section when linear tangential/linear normal vector basis functions are used with Galerkin testing, but not with other basis functions.
