Abstract :
A brief overview of the graphic features of a useful CAD system is presented to demonstrate the possibilities in automatic finite-element (FE)-mesh generation. The features required of an FE preprocessor are stated. An algorithm and family of 3-D elements for adaptive mesh refinement are given. They can be used to refine small parts of an FE mesh without any effect on the remaining regions
