Abstract :
A flying erase head (F.E.H.) for the high Hc metal powder tape of 8mm Video was developed by sputtering sendust on the leading side of the ferrite head gap. The F.E.H. is suited to the portable and camera combined VTRs because it makes possible to consume less power, insert a video signal in a recorded tape and simplify a tape transport system.
