Abstract
The signals statistics and dropout behaviour of magnetic tapes are important criteria of their storage capacity for high-density recording. Both the density of flux changes and the track width are restricted by these problem. In order to gain insight in these problems. We have developed theoretical models and specific experimental measuring assemblies. This paper presents a condensed summary of the results of this study.
