Abstract :
Using high silicon-iron single crystals with silicon concentration from 4.9wt% to 7.7wt%, the quenching temperature dependence of the saturation magnetization and the crystalline anisotropy constant were measured. In crystals with silicon concentration of 6.0wt%, reductions about 12% and 80% of the magnetization and the anisotropy constant were observed respectively, when crystals were quenched into oil from 1100°C. Vicker´s hardness of 6.6Si.93.4Fe crystal was 430 and 280 when it was cooled down at rates of 1000°C/h and 10°C/h respectively.
