Abstract
In this paper, eddy currents and losses in the solid rotor of a synchronous machine, due to stator teeth, are calculated. The magnetic field diffusion equation, accounting for saturation and for movement, is solved by the finite element method. The effect of saturation and rotor conductivity on teeth harmonics is studied. A numerical application is given at the end of the paper.
