Abstract :
The 31st session of CIGRE - Conference International des Grands Reseaux Electriques - was held in Paris, August 27 to September 4, 1986. Around 2390 delegates attended the session. Since insulation covers a vast range of activity, it is not surprising that subjects of interest to the insulation engineer be treated not only in Study Committee and Group 15, but also in other equipment Committees and Discussion Groups, and especially in the following: Group 11-Rotating machines; 12-Transformers; 21-High Voltage insulated cables 23-Substations; 33-Overvoltages; and insulation coordination In the subsequent paragraphs, the main subjects of interest will be first reviewed for each of the Discussion groups. Then a summary of the main activities discussed in SC 15 and its working groups will be given.
