Abstract :
There is presented a microwave tapped YIG-delay line with amplitude weighting and electronic phase tuning using magnetostatic surface waves (MSSW). Experiments have shown that a dynamic range of at least 20 dB for the amplitude distribution can be achieved by simply altering the MSSW-transducer positions. Electronic phase tuning is possible by varying the magnetic bias field. Perturbations of amplitude and phase, caused from MSSW reflections, due to the finite length of the delay line, can fully be eliminated by terminating both ends of the YIG film with semiconductive samples. A feeding network for a planar antenna array is presented as an example of application.
