  • Abstract
A stand-alone microcomputer workstation uses finite element methods to solve for the vector potential of dc machines. Vector potential solutions result in calculation of dc machine design parameters such as volts/bar, losses, inductances and flux densities using postprocessing design programs. The design parameters are calculated for two-dimensional, non-linear magnetostatic and linear eddy current vector potential solutions.
