  • Abstract
    The impact of the potential suspension of the cold war between the US and the USSR on arms sales is discussed. Military expenditure by both superpowers as well as by the eastern bloc and NATO is examined. The buying power of the Middle East, which remains the world´s largest market for arms, and the growing spending on arms in Asia are considered.<>
