Abstract :
A simplified eddy current model is used to analyze the effect of eddy current in a DC electromagnet core on the closing movement time of the armature. The dynamic characteristic of the DC electromagnet is then calculated by means of the finite-element method. The proposed eddy current model is shown to be simple and effective
