Abstract :
A few-decimetre length of single-mode polarisation preserving fibre waveguide is used to provide stable linewidth-narrowing optical feedback to single-frequency injection lasers. Linewidth reductions by a factor of about 50 have been obtained for GRECC, C3 and DFB structures.
