Abstract
The paper gives a survey of the major commercial applications of soft magnetic metallic glasses in the field of electronics. Topics discussed in detail are current applications such as magnetic heads for audio and video recorders, magnetic cores with low losses and specifically designed hysteris loops for inductive components in switched-mode power supplies, robust and reliable magnetometers, theft detection devices and sensitive displacement or torque transducers.
