Abstract :
A three-mirror Fabry-Perot etalon may be used to discriminate an optical signal modulated at a particular resonant frequency from those modulated at higher or lower frequencies. This bandpass behavior is well predicted theoretically from the structure´s transfer function and physically arises from the exchange of energy between two potential wells in an action analogous to an inductance-capacitance LC circuit. This resonance behavior is tested experimentally using a visible diode laser-based tunable repetition rate optical spectroscopy apparatus.<>
