Abstract :
The use of a horizontal magnetic dipole antenna with the electromagnetic interference fringes method is investigated. The radiation patterns due to the dipole placed on the surface of a uniaxial medium are plotted in both the broadside and the endfire directions. In the broadside direction there are very sharp peaks which can give rise to distinctive features in the interference plot. The interference patterns are illustrated for some field components for both isotropic and anisotropic media.
