Abstract
The authors demonstrate the effectiveness of a method which uses Nedelec´s tetrahedral elements for finite-element approximations of the mixed formulations of three-dimensional magnetostatic problems. The fundamental unknown function can be the magnetic field intensity (H-method) as well as the vector potential (A-method). A verification problem established by the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan is solved with these methods. Also, a practical test with the H-method is shown. It is shown that the H-method produces fairly good results within a reasonable computation time
