Abstract :
In this paper, a method is proposed to reduce the equivalent series inductance and equivalent series resistance of capacitors. The method is, first, theoretically analyzed and then verified through experiments. This method will show that it can be used for both film capacitors and electrolytic capacitors, greatly improving the performance of both. Applications in practical power converters prove that the proposed technique can significantly reduce high frequency (HF) electromagnetic interference noise. The technique can also be very useful to reduce HF voltage ripple.
