Abstract :
This paper applys the finite element method to computing the fields of rare earth permanent magnet (REPM) synchronous generators. Based on the computations of fields, it describes the determination of leakage flux coefficients, d-q axes armature reactances, field waveform in the air gap and voltage regulation of REPM synchronous generators, range from 3kW to 160kVA. The computational results compare well with tests.
