Abstract :
The paper develops the general idea of using a combination of field and circuit analysis to solve the class of eddy-current problems in which the current flow paths are well-defined. The method described is particularly suitable for electromagnetic devices which are excited from voltage sources and which may have external impedances connected in their circuits. The method is illustrated with reference to the analysis of a single-phase cage induction motor.
