Abstract :
Some of the characteristics of arrays designed for maximum directive gain subject to a tolerance constraint are described. Numerical data are presented which illustrate trade-offs between array size, directive gain, SNR, efficiency, bandwidth, tolerances, and farfield patterns. The results of an experimental study are found to be in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
