Abstract :
For present write channel current waveforms, a bandwidth efficiency of 1/2 bps/Hz is shown to be achievable which is 1/4 that of the read channel bandwidth efficiency. Further, with an improved write channel current waveform, the writer bandwidth requirement can be reduced by 1/2 to enable a bandwidth efficiency of 1 bps/Hz.
