    Having spent most of my professional career in the technology of plastic cards, my background in consumer electronics is limited. I can see, however., many places that the smart IC card can fit the industry. In this paper I shall discuss the most important and imminent uses of the card. certainly other places will occur to you as these lectures acquaint you with the structure and abilities of the IC card.
