  • Abstract
When the ray direction is complex, there exists no real trajectory along which the partial differential "equation of the eikonal" reduces to a system of ordinary differential (ray) equations. Such problems can be solved either by tracing complex rays or tracing a family of phase trajectories simultaneously.
