Abstract :
Perpendicularly magnetized amorphous PrxFe100-xfilms were successfully fabricated by r.f. sputtering for 30\\leq\\times\\leq60 . The dependence of the Curie temperature Tcon Pr content is in accordance with that of the melt -spun samples, except for x larger than 50. The change in Kuwith temperature of Pr-Fe films is similar to that in Nd-Fe-Co, and there seems to be a transition in anisotropy mode from uniaxial to conical. The dependence of polar Kerr rotation angle θkon wave length in Pr-Fe and Nd-Fe-Co films suggests a contribution of Nd and Pr to the magneto-optical effect.
