Abstract
The pseudoternary systems Er2 (Fe,Mn)14 B and Er2 (Fe,Co)14 B have been studied and we report an unusual variation of the unit cell volume with composition across the limited range of formation of the tetragonal Nd2 Fe14 B-type phase. Compositions outside of this range are multiphase consisting of known intermetallic compounds.
