Image and Oscillator Interference on Cable Television Systems

If the television set manufacturer chooses as a tuning mechanism a double conversion type of tuner where the IF frequency is above the highest frequency on the cable system and the local oscillator for the first mixer is a fundamental oscillator (not a doubler) whose frequency is always above this IF frequency, then there is no image or oscillator leakage problem. This is the typical system used in cable converters.
