  • Abstract
    Simple and low-loss detachable connectors, which do not require high machining accuracy, were fabricated for multi-mode optical fibres. By means of a self-aligning jig, using a gap between three steel balls, fibre centring error and connecting loss were 1.5 ¿m and 0.5 dB, respectively, on average.
