  • Abstract
    A theoretical analysis is given for open gradient magnetic separation (OGMS) by a periodic array of permanent magnets. It is shown that the analysis closely resembles that of OGMS by a cryogenic split pair coil system. It is further shown here that, for wet OGMS, performance is satisfactorily described in terms of magnetic velocity, for both cryogenic and permanent magnet systems.
