Abstract :
A high-performance integrated receiver circuit for fiber-optic wideband FM video transmission with carrier frequencies up to 80 MHz is presented. It features high limiter gain, an extremely linear novel on-chip delay-line detector and a novel type of AGC stage. The input dynamic range amounts to 80 dB. The maximum weighted SNR exceeds 85 dB. By applying it in a transmission link at 1300 nm, equipped with standard optical components, transmission distances of 100 km with a weighted SNR of 70 dB can be achieved.
