Abstract :
The absolute thermoelectric power S of amorphous (Fe1-xCOx)84B16and (Fe1-xNix)84B16(x=0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08) alloys has been measured from 77-400K. The results, specially compared with the influence of the additives which are to the left of Fe in the periodic table, strongly support the view that the nonlinear S(T) behaviour of magnetic glassy alloys is mainly decided by the magnetic scattering from the magnetic atoms. Both the Mott s-d scattering model and Kasuya model explain the results reasonably well.
