Abstract :
This paper describes a method for the computation of time-dependent electromagnetic fields of three-dimensional coil and conducting plane arrangements. The method is based on the idea of salvaging available two-dimensional formulae for eddy-current diffusion problems and to employ them in a three-dimensional context. Time-dependent field calculations for three-dimensional coil arrangements above a conducting plane have been carried out with this approach. The results are accurate enough for rough design estimates.
