Abstract
An electromagnetic railgun for the purpose of shock wave experiment has been developed at Tokyo Institute of Technology. In order to eliminate the destruction of projectile and plasma blow-by during acceleration, we have developed a new structure of railgun bore, techniques for precise bore manufacturing, and a diagnostic system. This paper details such efforts and some experimental results.
