Abstract :
The calculation accuracy of TOSCA was examined using the 180° sectoral H-shaped dipole magnet model with a maximum field of 2.3 T and strongly saturated iron poles. The measured magnetic field uniformities in the gap between the saturated iron poles agreed with those calculated by TOSCA within the order of 10-3. When the central magnetic field of the dipole magnet model was low, good agreements within the order of 10-4 were obtained. The measured magnetic fields in the additional iron yoke placed close to the end of the dipole magnet model were also compared to TOSCA calculations. The agreements were within about 20%
