Abstract :
An elevator goes up and down. That seems simple enough, but there is more to it, much more. Suppose we have a bank of elevators serving 15 or 16 rooms on each of the 34 floors in a busy downtown hotel. Suppose we have to be prepared to operate in the fire mode. Suppose we´d like to give priority to calls from certain floors. Maybe we´d like to keep a history of every move our elevators make for later analysis.
