Abstract
The Volterra-series method is used to develop a theory for predicting the scattering from a cavity-backed aperture loaded by a weak nonlinearity. An advantage of this method is that the reciprocity theorem can be used to calculate individually each frequency component produced by the nonlinearity. The method is illustrated for a thin slot loaded by a third-order nonlinear conductance.
