Abstract
Reliability assurance in electromagnetic launch technology poses many challenges. Problems resulting from extended periods of dormancy and possible space environments, as well as other field applications, will require innovative analysis methods. This paper reviews traditional failure effects techniques and describes the development of potentially useful reliability modeling techniques which involve explanatory covariates. These techniques are compatible with the classic Weibull analysis and popular accelerated models.
