Abstract
The electrical state along two matched transmission lines which are coupled periodically by means of holes is studied, and then identical radiating slots are taken into account, to make up an array. Theory and experimental results are compared for two nonradiating waveguides, especially the energy distribution into matched loads in terms of the hole diameter. Next when one of the waveguides is periodically loaded with radiating sources and fed in different ways, distinct radiating patterns which correspond to several modes are obtained: single, odd, even, sum, or difference. Radiated energy and efficiency are given in terms of frequency and hole diameter. Calculated and measured patterns are in excellent agreement.
