Abstract :
Faced with the need to produce complex, easily modifiable technical drawings as quickly as possible, Westinghouse Electric´s Heavy Industry Motor Division turned to computer graphics. By installing Lockheed´s CADAM–Computer Graphics Augmented Design and Manufacturing–system on an IBM S/370-138 with eight graphics terminals, the division tripled the productivity of its drafting department.
